When making other pieces, I didn’t want to waist the clay so decided to make a chopstick stand. Each pieces are randomly cut into little flat pieces. You can place the chopstick horizontally like the picture above in a Japanese manner or Vertically in a Chinese or a Korean way.
The Chinese character I used in these chopstick are “福” which means fortune or good luck but I selected an older version / style / font to give a more folklore taste to it.
器を作る際に残った土の断片を箸置きとして製作いたしました。一つ一つの形が違うか同じ仲間？的イメージ、セットで使うと素敵なイメージで作りました。箸置きは日本式にセッティングしても、中華、韓国風に縦に使っても大丈夫なデザインです。
福の文字をもちろんテーブルに囲んだみなさんの福を込めて、そして文字も民芸調に古い書体で描いてみました。
